When you want to relocate from the city to Colorado’s countryside, looking at online reviews might help you find the right mover. With the help of experienced Gold Hill movers, your relocation will be finished in no time. Here are some reasons why you should consider living in this community.

Living in Gold Hill Colorado

The settlement sits on top of the Left Hand Canyon at an elevation of around 8,300 ft. The residents possess a strong sense of community dating back to the old gold mining period. The core of social life here revolves around plenty of town meetings, performances, games, and volunteering. The town is located 11 miles from Boulder by Sunshine Canyon Road and 38.6 miles from Denver by Denver Boulder Turnpike.

Housing Prices in the Town

This place has become a desirable destination in Colorado for those who want to move away from city life. This is especially apparent when comparing the housing costs, with the median home value at $466,000, which is more expensive than the Colorado state average $385,000. Renting also costs more, with a one and two-bedroom apartment average rent of $1,300 and $1,600, respectively, compared to Colorado’s $1,040 and $1,300. At least the utilities cost less, around 6%.

The Area Has a Rich History

The town used to be a mining camp during the Colorado Gold Rush, and it was here that the first big deposits were discovered in 1859. The town was an important mining site at the end of the 19th century, with over 1500 residents at the peak. As the mining was dwindling in the early 20th century, the population also diminished. Despite experiencing two major fires, the town still retains plenty of historic wooden structures. One of these is The Golden Hill School, the oldest school in Colorado, which has continuously operated since 1873.

The Settlement Offers a Great Outdoor Retreat

The rich history and unique rustic, small-town community, and unpaved dearth roads make the town a great destination. The settlement attracts tourists with many lodges in the surrounding area, some operating since the mid 20th century. It’s a great outdoor retreat vacation spot for people looking to get away from the city. Most of the town has been renovated, with plenty of inns offering free wifi services. Gold Hill is one place where you can experience plenty of music evenings in the summer and have a 6-course meal.

Hiking Trails in the Area

The settlement has a great mountain scenery, with some great hiking trails in the vicinity. The area can become inaccessible due to heavy snowing in the winter months, so it’s recommended that you limit your hiking to summer. Here are a few popular hikes in the area:

  • Switzerland Trail – The trail follows a ridge above the town, going along the old railroad tracks, after which it takes you past Caribou and Sunset, now mining ghost towns. It’s very popular with bikers. If you’re moving with pets, know that dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash.
  • Brainard Lake – This is only one of the many mountain lakes in the area, others being Mitchell Lake, Blue Lake, and Long Lake. Depending on the trail you take, you can expect around 1,200 ft or higher elevation gains, but you will be rewarded with amazing views of the mountain tops and the forest below. You need to pay an entrance and parking fee from June to September. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a leash.
  • Indian Peaks Wilderness – The area preserves more than 76,000 acres in Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. Trails span for more than 110 miles with a 2.2-mile elevation that will take you to the summit of Mount Audubon at 13,223 ft, where you’ll be able to see the entire area from a bird’s perspective. To camp in the area, you need to have a permit, and pets must be leashed.

This was my very first time hiring movers, when moving day finally came it was an easy process! The movers were on time, super friendly, professional and were very careful with our stuff. It was so worth it to hire them and would definitely recommend to anyone moving.

Phoenix, AZ to Denver, CO

The movers who came to my house were extremely professional and pleasant. While the move took a little longer than anyone was anticipating, that's because I had more stuff than I originally envisioned, and multiple flights of stairs in both the house I was vacating and the one I was moving in to. I am very impressed with this company. Best move experience I've ever had.

Denver, CO to Denver, CO

Mike and Igor helped us move across town today. They showed up exactly on time and took great care of everything as they packed it up. Very professional, very fast, and very thoughtful (they even gave me a ride to my new house!). We'll be using them again whenever we move.
